Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 19, 2026

Tadhkir Maps was designed to collect no personal data. No account, no application server, no tracker. Your places, reminders and settings stay on your phone. This page describes precisely how the app handles information, and what it does not do.

1. Data controller

Tadhkir Maps is published by Sabab Group, based in Belgium. For any privacy-related question: contact@mysabab.com.

2. What the app does not collect

Tadhkir Maps does not collect the following categories of data:

  • Name, email address, phone number.
  • Advertising identifiers (IDFA, AAID).
  • Browsing or purchase history.
  • Contacts, photos, calendar, microphone, camera.
  • GPS position sent to any server.
  • Application logs, analytics events, crashes.

The app does not communicate with any server owned by Sabab Group. It contains no ad SDK, no analytics SDK, and no third-party tracking SDK.

3. Data processed locally on your device

Tadhkir Maps stores, only on your phone, the information required for the app to work:

  • The places you create (name, coordinates, trigger radius).
  • The reminders you attach to each place (text, language, chosen du'a).
  • Your app preferences (display language, notification settings).

These are kept in the operating system's encrypted storage (AsyncStorage on iOS and Android). They never leave your device. They are fully deleted when you uninstall the app.

4. Location

To trigger a reminder at the right place, Tadhkir Maps uses the geofencing functions provided by your phone's operating system.

  • The system watches, in the background, entries into and exits from the perimeters you have defined.
  • No continuous GPS coordinate is read or recorded. The app only receives an event signal ("you have entered", "you have exited").
  • That signal is processed locally to build a notification. It is not sent to any server.
  • You can remove the location permission at any time from your phone's settings. In that case, location-triggered notifications stop working, but the app remains usable to browse your library and reminders.

On iOS, the app requests the "Always Allow" permission to enable background triggering. On Android, "Allow all the time" serves the same role.

5. Notifications

The app asks permission to display local notifications. These are generated by your phone itself, based on the rules you defined. No push notification is sent from an external server, because there is none.

6. No account

The app offers neither sign-up nor login. No password, no email address, no user identifier are ever created or stored.

7. Mapping

When you add a place, the app shows a map and can help you search for an address. These views use the system's mapping services (Apple Maps on iOS, Google Maps SDK on Android). The requests needed to display the map are made by the native system component and are subject to Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies. Tadhkir Maps adds no identifier or logging of its own.

8. Religious content

The du'a library shipped with the app is drawn from classical sources of the Muslim tradition (primarily Hisn al-Muslim). This content is embedded in the app and requires no external connection.

9. Your rights

Because no personal data ever leaves your phone, there is no record of data about you that we could consult, rectify or erase on our end. You retain complete control over your information, directly within the app or by uninstalling it.

If you believe one of your data points might nevertheless be processed by us, please write to contact@mysabab.com. You also retain the right to file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (APD / GBA).

10. Children

The app contains no content unsuitable for minors and collects no data. It can be used at any age. We knowingly collect no data from children nor from adults.

11. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect functional changes in the app (for instance, the addition of optional device-to-device syncing). Any change will be noted with a new date at the top of the page, and substantive changes will be announced inside the app before they take effect.
